Tropic Marin Carbo-Calcium Powder is highly concentrated calcium and alkalinity for dissolving in reverse osmosis water to get the proven Carbocalcium solution. After dissolving, one single solution can cover all the calcium and alkalinity requirements of a typical reef aquarium without undesirable additional compounds or excess carbon dioxide being produced. This ensures strong growth of corals, coralline algae and other reef organisms.
This high-yield product is suitable for all tank sizes and prevents the side effects of other methods of calcium hardness: the pH remains stable; there is no excess CO2 and there is no risk of unwanted phosphates being introduced through coral breakage. In addition, there is neither a creeping increase in salinity, nor increased oxygen consumption through carbon compounds. After mixing, the resulting solution is suitable for both manual dosage and for dosing pumps.

After mixing, 1000 ml of the solution contain approx. 43,000 mg calcium and 6,000 dH.
Application & Dosage
Before starting use of Tropic Marin Carbo-Calcium as a supplement for your aquarium, it is recommended to adjust your systems calcium and alkalinity to your desired values. We recommend using Tropic Marin Original Balling - Part A (calcium chloride) for the calcium and Tropic Marin Original Balling - Part B (sodium bicarbonate) for the alkalinity.
Preparation of the solution from powder:
The 700 g can of Tropic Marin Carbo-Calcium Powder is sufficient for 5 l liquid solution, the 1400 g can for 10 l liquid solution.
To prepare the liquid mineral mixture, dissolve 6 level scoops (approx. 140 g) of Tropic Marin Carbo-Calcium Powder in approx. 900 ml of reverse osmosis water, resulting in a total of 1 l of dosing solution.
Dosage:
Start with a daily dose of 5 ml of Tropic Marin Carbo-Calcium per 100 liters of aquarium system volume. Increase the weekly dosage by 2.5 ml per 100 liters (26 US-gal) of aquarium system volume, until you reach stable alkalinity and calcium concentration.
Once the dosage is established, and the system parameters are stable, measuring either calcium or alkalinity, on a regular basis will monitor your systems changes and needed dosage adjustments. The corresponding parameter only needs to be monitored periodically. We recommend using Calcium as the dosage regulator, as conventional test kits are more sensitive (or accurate) in measuring changes in the calcium concentration than changes of the alkalinity from Tropic Marin Carbo-Calcium.
