Magnesium is very important in the water to maintain a sufficiently high calcium concentration (Ca) and hardness (kH).
A magnesium concentration that is too low is disastrous for the calcium concentration and hardness in an aquarium.
The best magnesium content is between 1300 and 1400, but this again depends on the calcium and KH value.
