Rinse the scrubbing pad before and after use, ideally in clean tap water. Always ensure that there are no pieces of gravel trapped in the scrubbing pad.

Caution: If aquarium gravel is picked up on pad, wash off before using since gravel will scratch glass surfaces. Do not use pressure so extreme as it could scratch or break the aquarium glass.
