what is copper?
Copper is a metal that occurs in rocks, soil, water and air. It is an essential element for plants and animals (including humans), which means that it is necessary for life. Therefore, plants and animals must absorb copper from the food or drink they eat, or from the air they breathe.
Copper is generally found in surface water, and usually in concentrations of less than 20µg/L. It can be detected at higher values from a consumer's tap as a product of corrosion of brass and copper pipes. In groundwater it can be detected as industrial pollution.
Copper is used to manufacture many different products. Pipe corrosion resulting in the release of copper can be caused when the water has one of the following characteristics: low pH, high salinity content, high dissolved oxygen content and/or electrical currents passing through it.
how is it used?
Designed as a more accurate alternative to chemical test kits, the HI747 provides fast and accurate results in a few simple steps:
STEP 1. Zero the checker with your water sample.
STEP 2. Add reagent to the cuvette.
STEP 3. Insert the cuvette into the Checker.
STEP 4. Press the button and read the results.
